Description
What is K26 refractory brick?
K26 refractory brick is a high-alumina refractory material with a refractoriness of about 1427℃ (2600℉). Its main component is alumina (Al₂O₃), with a content between 45% and 80%, and has excellent high temperature resistance. It is suitable for lining of high-temperature equipment in industries such as steel, metallurgy, petrochemical, electric power, cement, etc., such as kilns, heating furnaces, incinerators, etc. Its characteristics include high temperature resistance, erosion resistance, good thermal shock resistance, and high mechanical strength.
In the naming of refractory bricks, "K" represents the category of refractory bricks, usually referring to its refractory performance at high temperatures. "26" refers to the minimum refractoriness of the refractory brick, specifically the refractoriness reaches or exceeds the set 2600 degrees Fahrenheit (about 1427 degrees Celsius).

What is the difference between K23 and K26 firebrick?
- K23 refractory brick: The refractoriness is about 1260℃ (2300℉), suitable for medium temperature applications such as heating furnaces, incinerators, etc. The price is relatively cheap and widely used in industrial environments that do not require too high temperatures.
- K26 refractory brick: The refractoriness is higher, about 1427℃ (2600℉), suitable for high temperature environments such as steel smelting, glass manufacturing, etc. K26 refractory bricks have better thermal shock resistance and erosion resistance, suitable for more demanding use conditions, but the price is higher.

The difference between K26 refractory bricks and silica bricks
- Composition: K26 refractory bricks are mainly composed of high-alumina materials with high alumina content; while the main component of silica bricks is silica.
- Refractoriness: The refractoriness of K26 refractory bricks is about 1750℃-1800℃, and the refractoriness of silica bricks can reach 1710℃-1750℃.
- Performance: K26 refractory bricks have good thermal shock resistance and erosion resistance, and are suitable for medium and high temperatures; silica bricks have good volume stability, excellent wear resistance and acid slag resistance, but poor resistance to alkaline slag.
- Application: K26 refractory bricks are suitable for steel, metallurgy and other industries; silica bricks are mainly used in high-temperature acid-resistant environments such as coke ovens and glass melting furnaces.
