Description

What is alumina silicate?

The main components of alumina silicate fire brick is aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide, and their refractoriness can usually reach above 1600℃. This high refractoriness makes it widely used in high-temperature operating environments, such as inside cement kilns, stoves and furnaces. Due to its good mechanical strength and chemical stability, aluminosilicate refractory bricks can still maintain high structural stability under extreme conditions.

alumina silicate fire brick physical and chemical indicators

Physical and chemical indicators describe
Loss on ignition Refers to the percentage of weight loss of refractory materials at a certain temperature, usually with 800℃, 1000℃, 1100℃ and other temperatures as reference standards. Generally, the loss on burning of refractory bricks should not exceed 5%.
Bulk density Refers to the ratio of the volume to weight of refractory materials at a certain temperature, usually in g/cm3. The volume density of refractory bricks is generally required to be between 2.0-2.7g/cm3.
Apparent porosity Refers to the visible porosity on the inner surface of the refractory material. The apparent porosity of refractory bricks is generally required to be below 24%.
Flexural strength Refers to the resistance of refractory materials to fracture under a certain load, usually measured in MPa. The flexural strength of refractory bricks is generally required to be between 10-40 MPa.
Linear expansion coefficient Refers to the rate of change of the linear expansion coefficient of refractory materials during thermal expansion and contraction, usually in units of 10-6/℃. The linear expansion coefficient of refractory bricks is generally required to be below 4.0×10-6/℃.

From Wikipedia: Fire brick

Physical properties

  • alumina silicate fire bricks have a high bulk density and low apparent porosity, which means they have good compactness and strength.
  • This refractory brick has a high refractoriness under load temperature, indicating that it has strong high temperature resistance.

alumina silicate fire bricks have good thermal shock resistance and can remain stable under rapid temperature changes

Chemical properties

  • alumina silicate fire bricks have high compressive and flexural strengths and can withstand large pressures and shear forces.
  • This refractory brick has a low linear change rate, which means that its volume expands or contracts less during temperature changes.
  • alumina silicate fire bricks have good wear resistance and impact resistance and a long service life.
  • This refractory brick has good slag resistance and can resist the erosion of slag at high temperatures.

Alumina silicate Refractory Bricks VS High Alumina Refractory Bricks

  • Alumina silicate refractory bricks are favored in metallurgy, ceramics and other industries for their good refractoriness and thermal stability.
  • In contrast, high-alumina refractory bricks contain a higher proportion of aluminum oxide, exhibiting superior wear resistance and erosion resistance, and are suitable for more extreme heat treatment conditions.

alumina bricks uses

Aluminosilicate refractory bricks are widely used in kilns and thermal equipment in the steel industry, non-ferrous metal industry and other industries.

Inspection and packaging

Usually high-strength cartons, wooden boxes or plastic packaging are used to prevent the bricks from being impacted and worn during transportation. In addition, the use of lining moisture-proof materials can also effectively prevent moisture from affecting the performance of refractory bricks.
