What Are The Common Problems in The Selection Of Refractory Bricks And Construction

Sep 28, 2021

1. Refractory brick purchase skills

1. Look at the impurity ratio of refractory bricks. Generally speaking, impurities will be generated in the sintering process of refractory bricks strictly according to the proportion of ingredients. There is no perfect product, and the product quality will not be affected. However, some manufacturers often do not produce according to the proportion of materials used, so that the sintered refractory bricks do not have a hard structure, so that the quality of the sintered bricks is not good enough to deceive consumers with shoddy and high prices. So when you buy refractory bricks, you can check it through its surface.

2. It is the fire brick sintering experiment, this method is effective. Generally, when we buy refractory bricks, we will take samples for testing in advance. Especially before we decide to buy, let the manufacturer conduct a high temperature test to check whether the sintering index of refractory bricks is the same as the standard index. As long as the experimental results have little deviation, the quality of the bricks is still acceptable, which is also a good method.

3. Use weighing method. Refractory bricks have their own specifications, dimensions and bulk density, and the weight of a single piece can be calculated. Because the aluminum content and production process are different, the unit weight of refractory bricks is different. After receiving the goods, the purchaser can randomly select a few pieces for weighing, measure the weight and record it, and then bake the sample in a high temperature environment for a period of time to check the weight to see if there is any change in the weight.

2. Common problems in refractory brick construction

1. Dislocation: that is, unevenness between layers and blocks.

2. Tilt: that is, it is not flat in the horizontal direction.

3. Uneven ash seam: the width of the ash seam varies, which can be adjusted by selecting bricks appropriately.

4. Climbing: that is, there are regular unevenness on the surface of the circular wall, which should be controlled within 1mm.

5. Separation: the high-alumina refractory brick ring is not concentric with the shell in the arc-shaped masonry.

6. Re-stitching: the upper and lower ash seams are superimposed, and only one ash seam is allowed between the two layers.

7. Through seam: that is, the gray seams of the inner and outer horizontal layers are combined, and even the metal shell is exposed, which is not allowed.

8. Opening: the mortar joints in the curved masonry are small in size and large in size.

9. Voiding: that is, the mortar is not full between the layers, between the bricks and between the shell, and it is not allowed in the lining of the immovable equipment.

10. Hairy joints: that is, the joints of the bricks are not hooked and wiped, and the walls are not clean.

11. Snaking: that is, longitudinal seams, circular seams or horizontal seams are not straight, but wavy.

12. Masonry bulge: It is caused by the deformation of the equipment, and the relevant surface of the equipment should be smoothed during the masonry. When the double-layer lining is built, the insulation layer can be used for leveling.

13. Mixture: The wrong use of mud is not allowed.
