High alumina lightweight brick is a special refractory material, the main component of which is alumina, and the content is usually above 48%. The main characteristics of this brick are good thermal insulation, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance and wear resistance, so it is widely used in various high-temperature equipment.

 

 

Manufacturing process

 

1. Raw material preparation: mainly use high-alumina bauxite clinker, and add a small amount of clay.
2. Processing: After the above raw materials are ground, they are mixed with a binder (such as clay) and a foaming agent to form a slurry.
3. Molding: The slurry is cast and molded by gas generation or foaming.
4. Firing: The molded bricks are fired at a high temperature of 1300~1500℃.

Porosity:	66%~73%
Compressive strength:	1~8MPa

 

These physical properties make high-alumina lightweight bricks have good thermal insulation and thermal shock resistance.

 

Use temperature

 

The use temperature of lightweight high aluminum bricks depends on their specific materials and production processes.
Generally speaking, the use temperature of ordinary high-aluminum lightweight bricks is 1350-1500℃, while the use temperature of high-purity products can reach 1650-1800℃4.

In addition, they can also be directly in contact with flames, but the surface contact temperature must not exceed 1350℃.
