AZS Zirconia Corundum Refractory Brick – High-ZrO₂ For Glass Furnace Melting Zones
Our AZS Zirconia Corundum Refractory Bricks (ZrO₂-Al₂O₃-SiO₂) feature 33-41% ZrO₂ content, withstanding up to 1700℃. They resist glass melt corrosion, thermal shock, and have low glass wetting – ideal for glass furnace melting pools, throat, and overflow channels. ISO certified, 2x longer service life than ordinary alumina bricks.
Description
1. Product Overview
AZS (Alumina-Zirconia-Silica) Refractory Bricks are premium materials made by fusing high-purity alumina, zircon sand, and silica at 2000℃+. The unique eutectic structure (ZrO₂ crystals embedded in corundum matrix) gives them superior corrosion resistance to glass melt – the top choice for critical areas in glass furnaces.
2. Model Specifications
| Model | ZrO₂ Content | Al₂O₃ Content | SiO₂ Content | Max Service Temp | Key Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AZS-33 | 33±1% | 49±1% | 18±1% | 1650℃ | Glass furnace side walls, feeders |
| AZS-36 | 36±1% | 46±1% | 18±1% | 1670℃ | Melting pool bottom, working end |
| AZS-41 | 41±1% | 41±1% | 18±1% | 1700℃ | Throat, overflow channels, crown |
3. Core Advantages
Extreme Corrosion Resistance: ZrO₂ crystals form a dense barrier against glass melt (especially alkali ions) – reduces erosion rate by 60% vs high-alumina bricks, extending furnace life.
High-Temp Stability: Withstands 1650-1700℃ long-term use – no softening in glass melting zones (critical for stable glass quality).
Low Glass Wetting: Glass melt doesn't stick to brick surface – minimizes stone defects in glass products (reduces production waste by 30%+).
Excellent Thermal Shock Resistance: Resists rapid temp changes during furnace startup/shutdown – no cracking (cuts maintenance downtime).
4. Technical Parameters
| Parameter | AZS-33 | AZS-36 | AZS-41 | Advantage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bulk Density (g/cm³) | ≥3.60 | ≥3.65 | ≥3.70 | Denser = better corrosion resistance |
| Apparent Porosity (%) | ≤18 | ≤18 | ≤17 | Lower porosity = less glass penetration |
| Cold Crushing Strength (MPa) | ≥80 | ≥85 | ≥90 | High strength for heavy load areas |
| Thermal Conductivity (W/m·K, 1000℃) | 2.5-3.0 | 2.6-3.1 | 2.7-3.2 | Balances heat transfer in melting zones |
| Linear Change After Firing (1600℃×3h, %) | ±0.1 | ±0.1 | ±0.1 | Minimal shrinkage/expansion |
5. Application Scenarios
Float Glass Furnaces: Melting pool walls, bottom, throat, and overflow channels (critical for float glass flatness).
Container Glass Furnaces: Working end, feeder channels, and neck rings (resists soda-lime glass corrosion).
Special Glass Furnaces: Optical glass, display glass melting zones (ensures low impurity content in glass).
