What Are The Bonding Methods Of The Bonding Agent For Refractory Materials

Jul 16, 2021

1 Hydration bonding refers to the bonding effect after the reaction of a binder (generally a cement-based binder) with water at room temperature to form hydrates, such as calcium aluminate cement;

2 Chemical combination, by means of the reaction between the binding agent and the hardener (coagulant), or between the binding agent and the refractory powder at room temperature, or the chemical reaction occurs during heating to form a new phase with binding effect. Such as water glass (sodium silicate);

3 Polycondensation combination, by adding a catalyst or crosslinking agent to make the binder undergo a condensation reaction to form an insoluble and infusible network-like combination to produce binding strength, such as resole phenolic resin;

4 Ceramic bonding refers to the bonding produced by sintering. There are two types: solid-solid sintering and solid-liquid sintering;

5 Adhesive bonding, the bonding produced by the superposition of one or more effects such as adsorption, diffusion or electrostatic interaction, mostly organic binding agents, such as lignosulfonate;

6 Coagulation and combination means that in the powder-water system suspension, adding a flocculant or adjusting the pH value to cause the colloidal particles to agglomerate to form a combination, such as an ultrafine powder slurry binder.
