What Are The Advantages Of Lightweight Mullite Bricks?

Jul 10, 2021

Compared with imitation stones such as polished tiles, fully polished glaze, and microcrystalline stones, the advantages of lightweight mullite tiles are quite obvious, which are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. Lightweight mullite brick is a new type of composite decoration building material: a combination of marble + bricks, which retains the natural texture and temperament of natural marble and shows its magnificent temperament.

2. Compared with natural stone, lightweight mullite brick products have the advantages of low cost, light weight, easy paving and good anti-fouling effect. It not only meets the protection of resources, but also caters to the needs of contemporary consumers. .

3. Ceramic products are industrial products that can be mass-produced, and light-weight mullite bricks are natural products that cannot be replicated. Ceramic products are introduced quickly, the trend changes quickly, and their depreciation speed is also fast. Lightweight mullite bricks are even more precious because of their stone resources and the non-replicability of products.

4. The use of marble "full-body slabs" has a big disadvantage that is that the upper part seeps and the air flows up below, which shortens the life of the whole-body bricks sharply, while the light-weight mullite bricks are used through strict and complicated production processes and technology. The service life is longer, and the waste of building materials is greatly reduced.

1. High refractoriness, which can reach above 1790℃. The starting temperature of load softening is 1600~1700℃. Compressive strength at room temperature is 70~260MPa.

2. Good thermal shock resistance. There are two types of sintered mullite bricks and fused mullite bricks. Sintered mullite bricks are made of high-alumina bauxite clinker as the main raw material, adding a small amount of clay or raw bauxite as a binding agent, and forming and firing.

Scope of application

Used for lining of cracking furnace, hot air furnace, ceramic roller kiln, electric porcelain drawer kiln, glass crucible and various electric furnaces.

Uses - Glass melting furnace upper structure bricks, forehearth bricks, cover plates, metallurgical furnaces and other industrial medium temperature furnace linings, carbon black reaction furnace quenching section, staying section lining. The upper part of the glass melting furnace, the lining of the foot bricks, and other industrial thermal equipment. Glass melting furnace upper structure bricks, cover plates, molded parts, medium temperature carbon black reactor and other thermal equipment linings. Use mullite-corundum sagger for high temperature. Glass melting furnace upper structure bricks, forehearth bricks, cover plates, forming parts, medium temperature carbon black reactor lining and other thermal equipment linings. Use corundum-mullite sagger for high temperature.

As the content of Al2O3 in mullite bricks increases, its high-temperature performance improves; while the amount of solvent increases, the high-temperature performance decreases. Accordingly, strictly controlling the content of impurity oxides, especially the content of K2O, Na2O and Fe2O3, is an important measure for obtaining high-performance and high-purity mullite bricks. Used in slag or gas environment containing alkali components, it has a serious corrosive effect on mullite refractory bricks.
