What are the types of refractory kiln furniture?

Nov 19, 2024

Refractory kiln furniture is a special refractory material, mainly used to support and protect the quality of ceramic products and magnetic materials during the firing process. The following are several common refractory kiln furniture:

Sagger: a container-shaped kiln furniture used to load ceramic products or powder materials to prevent the products from directly contacting the kiln bottom and being contaminated, and also reduce oxidation during the firing process.

Shelf: a plate-shaped kiln furniture laid flat on the kiln car, used to carry ceramic products, usually made of high-aluminum or mullite materials, with good thermal shock resistance and load softening temperature.

Cake: a small kiln furniture placed at the bottom of the product, used to increase ventilation between products and prevent product adhesion.

Column: a columnar kiln furniture used to support the shelf and products, usually made of high-aluminum or siliceous materials, with high refractoriness and mechanical strength.

Push plate: a plate-shaped kiln furniture that pushes the product forward, usually made of heat-resistant steel or ceramic fiber materials, with good heat resistance and driving force.

These kiln furniture work in high temperature environments, so they must have high fire resistance, good thermal shock stability, strength at room and high temperatures, good thermal conductivity and low heat storage, as well as regular appearance and precise dimensions.
